Please, I need ANSWERS...

Hello everyone, I hope you had a splendid weekend? Please, I need you to help me find answers to some questions I would ask at the end of this piece. I watched a movie a couple of days ago and it got me thinking. The movie was meant to be a comedy, but I didn't find it funny one bit (it had its funny aspect, even though it was not my type of comedy). I didn't find it funny because of a particular occurence in the movie (please note that the movie is not centered around this particular occurence). Let me give you a brief summary of the occurrence.  A man sends his driver to pick his daughter (I think his only daughter by the way) from the University (the University was far from the house); she just graduated (freshest graduate). On their way home, the car became faulty (very late at night) and the man called and asked them to lodge in a hotel for the night. I Miss You...

As I looked at the sky tonight, I saw the stars shining so bright. I thought to myself, "That's Maami (what we call my maternal grandmother) saying hi". I pointed to another one and said, "That's Mingo ( my uncle) winking at me". I kept pointing at the stars and personifying them with family members and friends I had lost along the way. It made me remember the importance of life and most importantly, the importance of living a fulfilled life. As I looked at the stars, I asked myself questions like, "Are they happy? Are they alright? Hope they doing good? Hope they are watching over me? Hope they are having fun?" I figured they were having a blast. It is funny how we take out time to remember the dead, while we treat those alive as if they were dead to us. We remember dead relatives, friends, partners and so on more than we remember or even talk to the living ones. In some cases, we make the living ones jealous of the dead ones and wish they

YOU represent ME...

It is a very beautiful day today. The first Saturday and first weekend of the ember month. Happy new month to you all (I am so sorry it is coming late), and Barka de Sallah to all my Muslim brothers and sisters. I am still expecting my share of the meat (I am really really really serious). I hope this new month brings unfathomable goodness into our lives. Today is another day, a new day to be awesome and work on developing a positive attitude and mindset. This is very important because our attitude, mannerism, behavior, actions, inactions and mindset in one way or another affect not just us, but others. Most people believe that what they do have an effect on their lives alone. They seem to forget that no man is an Is la nd. In whatever situation we find ourselves, we represent a particular group; be it our family, lineage, village, local government, state, country, continent and most importantly, we represent ourselves. The fact that you are a representative of a given soc
