Hello everyone, happy new day, happy weekend, happy new month, happy new year, happy, happy and happy new and old everything. Thank you so much to my dearest readers, followers, subscribers and well-wishers. I couldn't have made it this far without you. Thank you for being a big part of my blogging journey. I hope this day's journey is fruitful for us (you and me).
As each day rolls by, I want to beg us to learn about the power and importance of keeping quiet. I am sorry, but sometimes your voice, opinion, ideas, suggestions, thoughts and feelings are really not needed, not necessary, not wanted, not appreciated, not helpful, not impactful, and obviously, not the best means to communicate. This keeping quiet has nothing to do with speaking up against oppression, violence, racism, and the likes. Not to confuse you, please let me explain.
Keeping quiet, also known as Silence or best described as the power of your lips being in rest mode is very necessary to achieve a stress free life. It is also helps others live a stress free life as well. Most importantly, knowing when to be quiet is very, very, very important.
Not every situation in life requires a response. I hope this is not taken the wrong way, but not everybody that talks to you, deserves a verbal response or even a nonverbal response. Sometimes, the ignore button is good, all it takes is not responding or reacting. It is also very important to learn when, how and in what situation to use the ignore button, in order not to come off as a snub or a rude person.
Learning the power of keeping quiet in some situations also includes not involving yourself in every discussion. You do not need to talk or react in every situation. Sometimes, you need to keep quiet in order to learn, keep quiet to listen better, or keep quiet because silence is the best answer in some cases. Another reason to keep quiet is because your opinion (sometimes) isn't necessary (depending on the situation). Also, resting your mouth muscles at times is good for your health.
It is very sad that some people (mostly annoying people) willingly or unwillingly lack the ability to understand simple verbal and nonverbal communication. Some people are not sensitive enough (and sometimes, not sensible enough) to understand verbal, nonverbal, silence, and even the ignore button. They keep talking and talking, especially when you have indicated that you don't like what they are saying.
This class of people talk for different reasons, which include:
1. they are clueless to your discomfort
2. they are insensitive to your reaction
3. they don't care about your reaction
4. they want a particular reaction from you
5. they want to embarrass you
6. they want to disgrace you
7. they are tactless individuals
8. they are wicked and manipulative beings
9. they want something from you
10. they want to force you to do something for them
Irrespective of their reasons, sometimes if they keep their mouth shut, the world will sound better, and be a better place. I am not saying you shouldn't discipline, reprove or scold a person; but while doing any of these, you need to choose your words wisely, and also the manner in which your words are delivered.
Words have power, and can make, mar, destroy and even push a person to commit suicide. So, if you are a tactless person, please either go learn some tact, or keep quiet. Think deep before you bring words out of your mouth. In conclusion, many a times, you are more beautiful with your mouth closed.
